Mark and I have been friends since the 3rd grade and it has been a true blessing to watch him grow in the Lord and become a solid man of God. And now Mark has been blessed with the favor of the Lord with a wife: the beautiful blessed Courtney.

I was tired; it was late. I had just gotten off the train heading home after a long day. It was only a few blocks walk from the train, but the blizzard did not care to share a little grace. As usual, I had my camera with me but had no desire to pull it out. But when I took a second to look up and stopped watching my feet in fear of tripping, I noticed this man about a half a block ahead of me on the main street. There were no cars and not another soul to be seen, and the composition was perfect…or so I thought. The snow was coming down fast making visibility horrible and my subject was a bit too far. So what did I do? I took a quick look around to see if anyone else had come into view, and after confirming that no one had, I took my camera in hand and made a mad dash for a closer shot.
Right as I was coming into range my subject turned onto a side street. So I picked up the pace, stopped at the corner, lined up the shot and took this photo, which is now one of my favorite shots:
